And while we're on the subject of transportation, the
time has come to choose propane gas as a motor fuel. Propane is a
low-carbon, no-lead, high-octane fuel with more than 350,000 vehicles in
the United States running on this clean-burning fuel. It has been used in
motor vehicles since 1913 and is an alternative fuel which is helping
Americans comply with the the Clean Air act of 1990. This law specifically
names propane gas as part of the solution to the pollution problem.
Propane's 110 octane means smoother performance and
fleets can operate at a savings of 20 percent or more. Conversion to
propane-powered vehicles can be performed allowing the use of propane
alone or in a dual fuel version which permits the operation of either
propane or gasoline.
